LDAP Integration
Overview
GoPrint incorporates the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to access a campus directory database to authenticate and import user account information, for students, staff, or faculty members. Various standard account attributes such as, LoginID, FirstName, LastName, Card Number and Department Number are dynamically imported into the GoPrint database and stored as QuotaID's and associated with corresponding 'Print Quotas'. For additional information on Print Quotas > Quota
GoPrint can be integrated with OpenLDAP, Novell Directory, and Microsoft Active Directory

Multiple LDAP Profiles
Multiple LDAP profiles can exist based on Organization Unit (OU), group membership, eduPersonPrimaryAffiliation and other custom Classes and Attributes to grant different Quota allowances based on credit hour status, enrollment status (undergraduate or graduate) or department (faculty, staff, research department).
Additionally, a student's campus card number, used by third party one-card systems such as, Blackboard, CBORD,(CS Gold and Odyssey), NuVision, Heartland, CardSmith, and Monitor, can be incorporated as a custom attribute to eliminate the need for a card swipe system, therefore allowing users to pay for print jobs directly from their workstations or laptops using the GoPrint Web Client Popup utility. For additional information see the Web Client Popup > Web Client
Users authenticate to the directory database using the Web Client Popup
or at a
Print Release Station.
Additional Highlights
If a directory database is not accessible, then GoPrint offers clients an alternative authentication and quota account creation method such as bulk user importing or direct SQL queries to accounting databases such as Banner or Microsoft Access.
