San Ramon, California – January 16, 2013: Following an intense competition, the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Community College District designated GoPrint Systems the winner of Bid No. 133 and awarded GoPrint contract 40270 to provide LACCD with GoPrint’s Pay-for-Print Software, hardware and professional services. The contract term is five years beginning on January 16, 2013 and ending on January 15, 2018.

The nine colleges and sites immediately able to participate in the award are: East Los Angeles College (presently a GoPrint site), Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Harbor College, Los Angeles Mission College, Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Los Angeles Valley College, West Los Angeles College and Educational Services Center in Los Angeles. Other California based colleges may qualify to piggy-back on this contract and avoid competitive bidding.

Integration enables wireless driverless printing for laptops, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets using the new GoPrint Mobile App - Powered by Breezy.

San Ramon, California – November 6, 2012: GoPrint® and Breezy® announce an OEM partnership between the companies to provide a robust mobile printing solution for all GoPrint campuses – at zero cost to the institution. Campuses using the GoPrint Print Management Solution will receive a specialized GoPrint/Breezy connector for free, enabling users with iOS or Android devices to transmit, release and pay for print jobs with the GoPrint Mobile App powered by Breezy in addition to providing a secure method for laptop or personal computers to print without having to download a print driver. Shipments of the connector will begin in January 2013 at which time the GoPrint Mobile apps will be available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Once jobs are sent via the GoPrint Mobile app they are captured and paused by the GoPrint System until the user releases and/or pays for the print job.  Users can release print jobs at either the GoPrint Release Station or the Web Client Pop-up and payment can be transacted through a user account, copy/print card, account or card from any One-Card system or with bills and coins.

Already installed at more than 50 new sites, with more than 100 sites to be upgraded, this very dynamic, features packed release offers even the most sophisticated campus IT departments the freedom and capability to manage network printing cost recovery with a startling array of tools and features that make their jobs easier. The renowned GoPrint state-of-the-art "classic blues" browser like user interface, with its unequaled ease of use is retained and a new color scheme "red rocks" has been added.

Following are some of the new highlighted features.

Rules Based Printing: Setting of printing charge rates can be by location, URL, group, document type, catalog, or other defined criteria. For example, classroom assignments can be free for some and at reduce cost for others. OPAC or Blackboard printing can be free or at a reduced rate, while email or non-essential Internet printing can be at premium rates. This would also enable the use of discount pricing at off-peak times.

Smart Scheduling: Computer labs or multiple sites can be set to automatically charge different printing rates on different days or times, using a URL based 24/7/365 scheduler. Includes automated on/off charge or no charge options when classrooms or labs are in fee-based sessions.

Multiple "Smart Quota" Accounts: Emulating the intelligent chip based smart card system (without the hardware of course), this system allows each user to have multiple "purses" attached to each account and each with its own identifier. Accounts can be easily managed through the web enabled user interface with one click. There are 4 different types: Print Quota Balance, Credit Line (overdraft), Scheduled Allowance (global coupons), and Specific User Allowance (individual reward coupons). Smart accounts can be tied to usage at specific labs or sites, enabling separate quotas to be assigned for defined usage at multiple sites, while not preventing general usage. Users can add to their accounts with cash, credit card or debit card. This is also a multi-purse, double entry ledger based accounting system with good default settings for those who do not wish to handle accounting chores, and a customizable chart of accounts for those who do.

Passwords: GoPrint now offers multiple password and user ID/PIN options. Using advanced technology commonly available in other environments, GoPrint software is not installed on client workstations.
