GoPrint
Ships the All-New 100% Web Enabled GS-3
Self-Service, Cost Recovery, Network Printer Management System
Password Protection, Rules Based printing, Smart Scheduling, GoPrint
Administration Control Center and Smart Quota Accounts Highlight
the GS-3
San Ramon, California -- GoPrint Systems is now shipping
The GoPrint GS-3 Solution. Already installed at more
than 50 new sites, with more than 100 sites to be upgraded,
this very dynamic, features packed release offers even
the most sophisticated campus IT departments the freedom
and capability to manage network printing cost recovery
with a startling array of tools and features that make
their jobs easier. The renowned GoPrint state-of-the-art "classic
blues" browser like user interface, with its unequaled
ease of use is retained and a new color scheme "red
rocks" has been added.
Following are some of the new highlighted features.
Rules Based Printing: Setting of printing charge rates
can be by location, URL, group, document type, catalog,
or other defined criteria. For example, classroom assignments
can be free for some and at reduce cost for others. OPAC
or Blackboard printing can be free or at a reduced rate,
while email or non-essential Internet printing can be
at premium rates. This would also enable the use of discount
pricing at off-peak times.
Smart Scheduling: Computer labs or multiple sites can
be set to automatically charge different printing rates
on different days or times, using a URL based 24/7/365
scheduler. Includes automated on/off charge or no charge
options when classrooms or labs are in fee-based sessions.
Multiple "Smart Quota" Accounts: Emulating
the intelligent chip based smart card system (without
the hardware of course), this system allows each user
to have multiple "purses" attached to each
account and each with its own identifier. Accounts can
be easily managed through the web enabled user interface
with one click. There are 4 different types: Print Quota
Balance, Credit Line (overdraft), Scheduled Allowance
(global coupons), and Specific User Allowance (individual
reward coupons). Smart accounts can be tied to usage
at specific labs or sites, enabling separate quotas to
be assigned for defined usage at multiple sites, while
not preventing general usage. Users can add to their
accounts with cash, credit card or debit card. This is
also a multi-purse, double entry ledger based accounting
system with good default settings for those who do not
wish to handle accounting chores, and a customizable
chart of accounts for those who do.
Passwords: GoPrint now offers multiple password and user
ID/PIN options. Using advanced technology commonly available
in other environments, GoPrint software is not installed
on client workstations.
Authentication Methods: ADS (Active Directory Services),
NDS (Novell Directory Services), LDAP (Lightweight Directory
Access Protocol), Radius and built-in secure Username/Password
database with 128-bit SSL & MD5 crypto technologies,
and Custom, via external command execution.
GoPrint 100% Web Enabled Administration Control
Center:
Centralized administration with all system controls can
be accessed from anywhere via a password-protected web
interface to manage all system components, settings,
quota user accounts and to view reports.
Expanded Reports: Includes 110+ preformatted and ODBC
exportable reports with no additional licensing fees.
Steve Haber, president of GoPrint Systems said, "the
GS-3 is the result of a mid 6-figure investment and two
years of planning and testing, with an objective to deliver
the finest self-service, cost recovery network printer
management system and vended printing solution of its
kind. We believe we have exceeded beyond our expectations
and invite everyone to test trial this exceptional leading
edge product to see the enormous cost-saving, easy to
use and cost recoverable benefits for yourself."
GoPrint
supports all debit and smart card systems, coin/bill
acceptors, networked PCL, PostScript and Multi-function
printers.
GoPrint provides expert "turnkey" installation,
training and the industries leading support and maintenance
program appropriately designated as "over-the-top." The
first year is included at no added cost. Continuation support
can be purchased for subsequent years. GoPrint provides free
site evaluations, free trial systems (with loaned hardware),
and custom programming for unique requirements; a benefit of
