Campus One-Card Integration
Overview
A “Campus One-Card” (Campus Card) solution, refers to a Blackboard, CBORD CS Gold (ETI & XML) or CBORD Odyssey, NuVision, Heartland, or CardSmith campus online billing service. These campus billing services are designed to track items such as student meals, books, parking, laundry, and even vending machines. The GoPrint solution successfully maintains a certified gateway to these solutions to allow students to charge for printing and copying.
Campus directors may configure multiple locations or tenders within their campus system to provide a quota of "Free Prints" for student printing. When funds are dissolved students must use funds from their standard or primary campus account or purchase additional funds from the campus one-card office or designated add value stations.
Optionally, campus one-card systems can be combined with the GoPrint internal quota system to provide a "Free Print" quota within GoPrint as the primary fund while automating the system to roll over to the campus one-card funds when balances are dissolved.
When a user swipes their campus card at a print release station, both the Free Prints funds and the primary campus funds are displayed to the user.
LDAP Integration
Campus card numbers can be integrated into a campus directory database such as, Microsoft Active Directory, Novell Directory, and OpenLDAP, as a user attribute. The GoPrint solution can pull the card number along with other standard use attribute fields (Firstname, Lastname, Email, Department Number) allowing users to authenticate and pay for print jobs directly from their workstations and laptops, eliminating the need to walk over to a print release station and use a card swipe method of payment.
