Pricing and Print Rules
Print Job Pricing
The GoPrint solution's flexible pricing structure allows pricing to be set right down to the individual print queue level. Each Price Sheet has its own pricing matrix, consisting of one or more price sheet entries. All entries in the pricing matrix are evaluated when a print job is spooled. First, the appropriate entry with a Price Method of “Price” is determined; then any and all entries with a Price Method of “Adjust” are applied to establish the total price. Entries with a Price Method of “Free” will override the pricing calculation and cause the print job to be priced at zero. There is always a Base Entry that reflects the price if all other entries do not apply.
Discounted prices may be applied for double-sided printing to help encourage a more "Green" environment by reducing paper waste.
Print Rules
Print Rules allow you to set a granular level of control over the user's printing experience. Auto-Delete rules allow you to apply limits by physical file size and number of pages per document, both which contribute to time delays and long lines in your printing labs.
Free Print Rules provide the opportunity to offer free prints to specific users and groups based on domain or LDAP membership. Additional Free Print Rules can be applied to URLs, page titles, and document extensions for those web pages and documents not defined as part of a student's coursework, but for student services.
The GoPrint Time Scheduler changes a print queue's status from a charging mode to a free print mode based on specific days of the week and times of the day. This is beneficial when document printing is required during a class versus open lab.
